At the far southern edge of the world lies Patagonia—a land long described as vast, untamed, and larger than life. Early explorers spoke of the Patagons, a mythical people said to be giants, whose presence shaped the imagination of the region for centuries. Some called it regio gigantum—the land of giants. Others believed the name Patagonia came from patagón, a word linked to large feet, as if the land itself bore the mark of those who walked it.
Our name comes from this story.
The footprint in our logo is a symbol of that legend, but also of something more intimate: belonging, ancestry, and the marks we leave behind. It honors the original myths of Patagonia while grounding them in our own lived experience.
Patagonia is our birthplace. Carolina, myself, and our two daughters were all born there. Its open landscapes, strong winds, and quiet permanence live in our memory and in our hands. Working with clay allows us to slow down, to listen, and to shape objects that echo that sense of place—solid, honest, and enduring.
Patagon Ceramics is rooted in the south.
It carries a story of land and legend, of family and origin, and of making things meant to last.
